Siglufjörður is a small fishing village in a fjord on the northern coast of Iceland. Its maritime heritage is preserved at the Herring Era Museum where many of these photos were taken. The museum spans several buildings showcasing fishing boats, processing equipment for canning, and living quarters for the men and women who worked in the industry. Siglufjörður is also the setting for the Icelandic television series Ófærð (Trapped). My wife and I watched the series after we visited the town and it was a lot of fun to recognize landmarks around the place.
