One weekend in July of 2013 I escaped LA to visit some of my favorite buildings in the Phoenix area. Gems such as the Burton Barr Central Library, the Scottsdale Art Museum and the Deer Valley Rock Art Center by Will Bruder, the Phoenix Art Museum by Tod Williams and Billie Tsien, Cosanti by Paolo Soleri and Taliesin West by Frank Lloyd Wright. A masterclass in program, space, movement, tectonics, texture, and shadows.
